[HOW TO] In call G-unlock

Settings > Phone > During a call > "Protect touch screen" > +

Will lock the screen while you are talking(once the call is connected). This protection mechanism is g-sensor based and will work regardless the light conditions.

To unlock you have 2 ways:

1. Manual: Use the slider (top-down)

2. Auto: Move phone away from your ear towards down ending with a short bouncing to produce a little negative G. Screen must end facing up (+/- 45°). The animation below can ilustrate better:

Once you move the phone to talking position it will auto lock again.

* For this to work properly you must do Settings > (A) > + > System > Check "Do not turn screen off on calls"
* If still not working properly some ROMs might require to change HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\ScreenOff\ecs1:\acs1:=0

Regards,

Can the phone be left unlocked if it was not lock when the phone call came in?

This is especially the case when I am using the GPS while driving and a call comes in. The PDA locks and cuts me off from the GPS s/w even after I answered the call using my bluetooth.

Cheers!

You can add GPS app to Application Permissions, with the option "when running". That will keep the screen unlocked also during call.
